"Absolutely delightful, textural, medium weight white-ish wine with lots of pear drop...and serious white wine expression." Mike Bennie. The Wine Front.
Mulline is a new winery and I don't think you'll find a more credentialled winemaker setting up a new winery in the last 2 years. You see, Ben Mullen heads up the winemaking and prior to setting up Mulline, refined his skills at the likes of Domaine Dujac, Yarra Yering, Oakridge, Leeuwin Estate, Torbreck & Craggy Range before returning to deep dive into Mulline. I think you'll agree, those wineries Ben's worked at are some of the best.
The wine that he's nailed is Pinot Gris 2021. It's currently the #1 ranked 2021 Victorian Pinot Gris on Real Review but if you want some extra extra critical acclaim, then read this:
"Absolutely delightful, textural, medium weight white-ish wine with lots of pear drop, pear skin, fennel herbal-savouriness, a touch of radish/kohlrabi too. Excellent, faintly powdery texture, bright acidity in its midst. Persistent, savoury, shapely and serious white wine expression." Mike Bennie. The Wine Front.
"A pale onion-skin-gold with a hint of salmon-pink at rim. Golden apples, honeysuckle, and glazed pastry aromatics. An intense wine with autumnal fruits and savoury biscuit notes throughout. A fuller style that carries that sense of presence all the way to a long finish." Stuart Knox (The Real Review) #1 of 17 Pinot Gris Victoria 2021 (as of Dec 2021).
