Lino Ramble is the personal project of Andy Coppard and Ange Townsend, both previously at Kay Brothers in McLaren Vale. They are both big fans of emerging Italian varietals such as Fiano, Nero d'Avola and Montepulciano.
The wines are natural to the extent there are no deliberate wine-making inputs save for a little (tiny actually) sulphur. Much of the fruit is organically certified.
Wild yeast-open fermented, with 100% whole berries and hand-plunged for 28 days, matured in used French puncheons for 10 months. A luscious wine that deserves to be enjoyed, not because it's rare, but simply because of its flavours of spiced red berries, dark chocolate and mocha." 94pts - James Halliday - Wine Companion
"Organic certified vineyard . Montepulciano. Grafted onto chardonnay some 10 years ago. Deep perfume, fragrant with plum, dark cherry, black pepper, some cranberry and new leather. Slurpy texture with bright acidity underlying, good concentration of flavour, pippy cherry characters, lick of chocolatey-oak character, but not overly overt, just a sense of some wood chew and spice. Nice tannins through the wine, ripe, then a chomp to finish. Good example here. Touch of class but still brilliant drinkability." 93pts - Mike Bennie - WineFront
