The Ingram Road chardonnay is exciting, fresh, zesty and well balanced.
About this Wine
Ingram Rd Chardonnay is not like most inexpensive Chardonnays. Firstly it is made from Helen’s Hill Estate’s cool climate Yarra Valley Estate fruit, secondly small parcels are hand-picked at harvest based on fruit flavours, thirdly it is 100% French oak fermented and matured and finally, 100% ‘wild’ fermentation is utilised during the primary fermentation stage. This is a ‘hands on’ approach, much of which relies on Mother Nature ensures that the fresh, complex, high quality Chardonnay fruit ends up in the bottle.
"95 points + Special Value"
"Hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented in French barriques, partial mlf for 8 months. There’s a tangy, lively edge to the white stone-fruit flavour and citrus-tinged acidity. A remarkably good chardonnay at any price, let alone this. While it’s ready now, it will age with grace." James Halliday, Halliday Magazine
"Top Value Wines of Australia"
"Light, bright yellow colour, with a herbal, chopped-parsley aroma that is fruit-driven
and restrained, delicate and straightforward, without obvious oak. The palate tracks
the nose, and there is good intensity of flavour with a touch of richness, the texture
satisfying and it finishes right out. A little extra time could bring rewards. Very keen
value for money." Huon Hooke, The Real Review
