More Information

This single vineyard lies in the Stone Well parish at 280m altitude and has a myriad of soil types including sandy-loams, red clays and a limestone rock base — blonde in colour — running the length of the vineyard. It crops naturally at around 1.5 ton/acre, shows perfume, jube-like blue fruits, produces riper, plumper, sweeter fruited wine while still retaining acidity due to the higher limestone content of the soil. Only 300 cases made.

"Perfume and seduction, vanilla cream, plum and apricot kernel, suggestion of marmalade, but kind of refined too. It’s silky and fruit sweet, glide and gloss, fine texture to the dense tannin, peach skin and red fruit, acidity sits neatly inside the wine, and the finish is long and fine. Pure Barossa." 95pts - Gary Walsh - WineFront

Where this wine comes from - Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is Australia’s best-known wine region and there’s a good reason why. The wines certainly live up to their international reputation, particularly Barossa Shiraz. With long, warm summers, the region produces full-bodied styles with power and panache. The reds are rich and luscious in their youth with dark-berried flavours, fruit intensity and fine-grained tannins, which mature gracefully with time in the cellar. But there’s more to the region than Shiraz. Grenache and Mourvèdre do more than play a supporting role in GSM blends, they’re standing on their own two feet as single varietal wines. And with a new school of winemakers at the helm, the region is in good hands for a long and healthy future.
