A great value Sangiovese from Beechworth!
Chianti clones are destemmed and whole-berry fermented, Brunello clones crushed and 'worked a little harder', both fermented in 20hl wooden fermenters and given 3-4 weeks post-ferment maceration, matured in a mix of oak for 12 months. A good sangiovese that has repaid the complex vinification, first up with a fragrant rose petal/cherry blossom bouquet, the palate in a state of flux as savoury notes come and go, sour and fresh cherries playing hide and seek.
