More Information

96 Points. Very bright, deep purple colour. Smoky-reductive aromas overlie the spice and berry fruit nuances, while the palate is deliciously full and rounded, elegant and yet structured, with a long finish and evident ageing potential. Accessible and enjoyable already and has a bright future. The Real Review, 11 November, 2021

94 Points. So seductively fragrant and just packed with pepper and baking spices, across graphite, dark stones and blackberries. Big impact and very fresh. The palate has a very concentrated, agile and energetic feel with fine-grained tannins carrying fresh red-plum and blackberry flavors. Drink or hold. jamessuckling.com, 12 October, 2021

95 Points. Notably good. Power and control. Cruises across the palate with fine tannin, succulent red and black berry fruit character, ferrous spice and some new leather and mahogany going on. Excellent texture, fine weave of al dente tannins, a flourish of fruit, spice and savoury to finish. Classy gear. The Wine Front, 13 May, 2021

94 Points. Gorgeously lifted floral notes and raspberry juice purity on the nose. The palate is inky and youthful, packed with dense purple brambles, more ripe raspberries and sweet red cherries too. Super-bright cleansing acidity, a cool mineral tang and mouthcoating musky tannins. A stunner now but will age beautifully. Drinking Window 2021 - 2030. decanter.com, 12 March, 2021

96 Points. Fermented with 20% whole-bunch, 15 months in oak (25% new). Intense syrah from an excellent vintage. Good density with red-fleshed plum, cassis, a hint of floral and black pepper. Combines elegance and power. Should age well. TOP NEW RELEASE NEW ZEALAND REDS. Australian Gourmet Traveller WINE, Feb/Mar 2021

96 Points. Trophy winner at the Hawke's Bay Wine Show. Mainly MS clone, fermented with 20% whole-bunch, 15 months in oak (25% new). Dense syrah with red-fleshed plum, cassis, a hint of floral and black pepper. It sits on the cusp between blockbuster and finesse with a nod in both directions. Graphite tannins. Great now but will age. The Real Review, 19 October, 2020
