Cobaw Ridge Syrah 2015

Cobaw Ridge can now be considered a proper veteran of the Macedon Ridges now entering its 35th year. Vines are planted on granitic sandy soils at 610m, one of the highest sites in Victoria. All wines are 100% estate sourced and the winery is now certified organic and biodynamic. Importantly, Cobaw Ridge was the first winery to commercially produce a Langrein.

We've all grown up, the industry has matured, we can stand on our own two feet and be proud of who we are and what we do in Australia without having to fawn to France. Having said that though, it's really hard not to think of great syrahs of the northern Rhone (St- Joseph, Hermitage) when tasting this exceptional, nervy, peppery, thrillingly dark-fruited syrah.
