Chalk Hill Sangiovese 2013

This is a very big Sangiovese. You’ll need to decant it to get the best effect, or chuck it in the dungeon for a year or 4. This edition is quite black, brimful of briar and spice. Quite delicious.

Very deep near opaque dark red black tinged colour with a very dark crimson red hue. The nose reveals aromas of black cherries alongside a hint of liquorice followed by some earth and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate has flavours of spicy ripe dark cherries followed by a touch of liquorice and some earth. Dryish finish with ever so slightly chewy tannins. Aftertaste of spicy dark cherries and earth.
