''Bright straw-green; brimming with life and energy, the fragrant bouquet of citrus and white flowers, the palate intense and very long; the flavours are spun around beacons of white peach and grapefruit, the barrel ferment inputs simply adding complexity.'' 95 Points, James Halliday's Wine Companion
''White peach, custard powder lemon zest and green olive, perhaps a touch of spice. Light and fresh, some lactic/cheese flavour and stalks, with fine acidity and chalk dust texture, and a savoury finish of good length. '' 92 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
The core of natural acidity creates that great structure, finesse and length for the wine. The balance between the fruit generosity and tight acid structure is the hallmark of Castle Rock Rieslings. Lively, crisp and with an attractive delicacy now, this wine will blossom with age for at least fifteen years.
Woodlands Chardonnay is a fruit-forward earlier drinking Margaret River style displaying ripe stone-fruit cut by fresh vibrant acidity and supported by lightly spiced vanillin oak. Fruit is sourced from the Wilyabrup sub region of Margaret River. The wine is barrel fermented then racked to tank. A minor component is matured in barrel, before the components are blended together filtered and bottled.
