Billy Button 'The Torment' Riesling 2018

Christened “The Torment” for its inaugural vintage in 2017 because Jo broke her own rule regarding sourcing grapes exclusively from the Alpine Valleys. Riesling is her favourite white variety & very little is grown or available in the region.

More Information

"Jo Marsh loves the Alpine Valleys for its treasure trove of grapes on offer. When she started her Billy Button label five years ago with 10 single-varietal wines, three were Italian whites – friulano, verduzzo and vermentino. Jo has since added arneis, malvasia and prosecco. “The allure of Italian whites is they are about texture and the palate, not about the nose,” she says. “And they just combine so well with food.” Jane Faulkner - Wine Companion

"The wines of Jo Marsh have a great deal of immediate appeal, as a rule, though you get the feeling that she reserves a special place for riesling. “2018 was the first year where I felt like I didn’t have to compromise,” she says. So elegant. Such a cool, clear line of flavour. An impeccable wine, but not at the expense of character. Floral, limey, almost musky. Gorgeous. Only saw this briefly and in among a great many wines but I instantly wanted to drink this with gusto. Pure quality, sheer drinkability." 94pts - Campbell Mattinson - WineFront
