"Wonderful energy and beauty."James Suckling
"A great example of dry Riesling." Decanter Magazine.
"It's refreshing now and promising in the future." Wine Enthusiast
Perhaps most representative of Trimbach's house style, this Riesling is wonderfully dry and crisp, with green apple and citrus flavours swiftly followed by a wave of acidity. Mineral notes mingle with just a hint of stone fruit and tropical fruit on the mid-palate, leading into a long, slightly spicy finish. A great example of dry Riesling. Drinking Window 2017 - 2027. 90 Points. Decanter Magazine.
While New World Riesling has become ultra-fashionable, here is the original version from a French outfit that has been making serious (and sometimes seriously expensive) wines in Alsace since, so it says, 1626. Great individuality and a dry, clean, mineral purity from this "entry-level" bottle, with full-on flavours of lemons, quince and grapefruit. Will work with lightly Asian-spiced dishes, smoked fish or a lemon-roasted chicken. The Independent UK
A creamy white, with fine cut defined by firm acidity, this shows finely meshed flavors of pear, smoke, fleur de sel, anise and lemon meringue. 90 Points. Wine Spectator
"This is very minerally and bright with amazing tangy acidity and crispness. Wonderful energy and beauty. Full body, tangy finish." 93 points James Suckling
"The nose shows restrained citrus and a slightly lifted, very slightly aromatic touch of conifer. The palate is taut and slender, presenting sober, clean citrus flavors. This stands upright and has a wonderful backbone of freshness. I feel it will have more to give in the future. It's refreshing now and promising in the future. The finish is so subtly fruited that this will be worth the wait. Drink now through 2030."92 points Wine Enthusiast
