What a perfect time it win RESLING OF THE YEAR TROPHY! That's right, the Reillys Watervale Riesling 2018 has been awarded Best Riesling at the Winestate Wine of the Year Awards! This is on top of the 96+ Rating and Elite Gold it was awarded at the 2019 Canberra International Riesling Challenge. To win one award maybe a fluke, to wine another means you know this riesling is the real deal. We'll point out the price is a tick under $20, making it a great buy for the warmer months.
"Juicy riffs of quince, candied citrus zest and orange blossom are helped by a judicious dollop of fruit sweetness across the wine's aft to galvanise flavour while toning the high acidity of the variety. Long and plenty energetic". Ned Goodwin. winecompanion.com.au
“This is extremely perfumed with lime-peel and flint aromas. Medium-bodied, round and compact. Tangy finish. Drink now.”James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com

I can well understand why this was nominated the Riesling of the year - it is beautiful - my preference is to have a Riesling in the dry side, full of lemon and lime flavours and this fits the bill. Wonderful! And at a great price to the consumer! I’m already into my second batch!
Clean, bright floral and citrus aromas, good fruit weight on the palate weight, fine citrus/lime flavours, lovely crisp acid and fruit finish, good length. I would definitely purchase again.
It's good to see that Riesling has not been rejected entirely! There was a time in the '90s and the early 2000's that Riesling almost disappeared in this country. And Clare Valley Rieslings must be the best in Australia. This vintage was, I think, just as an Australian Riesling should be - and I enjoyed it a great deal.
