Mataro was sourced from a single dry grown centenarian vineyard in the Light Pass subdistrict of the Barossa Valley. Medium bodied, showing a vibrant and fresh core of bramble, mulberry and plum fruit. Bright acidity and poised tannins round out the sleek-textured, moreish finish.

"Annexus Mataro was new to the John Duval range last year. 250 dozen made. Grown on century-old Mataro bush vines in the Light Pass district of the Barossa Valley. Laden with minerally, earthen, graphite-like flavour. It’s a characterful red if ever there was one, and yet it feels clean and pure simultaneously. It’s not a big wine and yet is has plenty of bass; it holds you in its cold, blue stare. Tannin comes as a thin sheet of suede-coated steel.
